The Future of The Cleveland Cavaliers
Once again the Cavs came close, but they couldn't get the job done. Lebron had one of the best games of his career and hardly anyone else showed up. This is the story of Lebron's career. He's an amazing player, probably one of the top 3 best players in the league, and yet he can't win a title because of a lack of talent. They had Carlos Boozer, but he went for the money and gave Cleveland a giant middle finger. Since that time, it seems like Cleveland has tried to surround Lebron with talent, but it just hasn't worked out. The names that come to mind in this project are: Larry Hughes and Ben Wallace, both who were overpaid and unmotivated. If the Cavs want to keep Lebron in Cleveland after 2009, they actually have to surround him with talent. This means that Danny Ferry needs to be active this offseason in the trade market and free agent market. One name that the Cavs should look at is Michael Redd. He's a local guy, who went to Ohio State and it appears that the Bucks are willing to trade him. Who knows what the offseason will bring. Bottom line is Cleveland could lose a future hall of famer if they don't act very soon.
