The Cavaliers aren't messing around, while other big name teams are

Has anyone noticed that the Cavs have won 8 games and by the start of the conference finals over two weeks of rest. They seem on a mission to get the title. The other big name teams seem to have a problem understanding that finishing the job is important in the NBA Playoffs. Sure the Celtics and Magic are fighting, but some teams seem to lack that Championship mentality on certain nights. Take for example the Los Angeles Lakers, picked by many as the perennial favorite to win the west and the NBA Championship. The Lakers seem to have no sense of urgency and sometimes play in a lethargic way. They have allowed a team they should have been done with in 5 games, to extend the series to 7. In the two games played in Houston since star Yao Ming went down with an injury, the Lakers have looked lost. They can't defend Houston's players. Trust me, those players are not Lebron James and Mo Williams. The Magic and Celtics are locked in an epic duel to earn the right to face the Cavs. In the process, they have earned the Cavs more rest. The Nuggets played well enough to sweep the Mavs but ended up closing in 5. Personally, the way things are shaping out, the Lakers will not make the NBA Finals. The Nuggets are clearly playing better basketball and are playing with that championship mentality and that sense of urgency needed to win a title. In the NBA playoffs, its all about who is playing the best basketball right now and those teams are the Cavs and Nuggets. What a finals that would be. Two of the NBAs brightest stars on the biggest stage. Unless the Lakers start to play a consistent type of championship basketball, Denver will beat the. It is inexcusable for the Lakers to be in a Game 7 with the Rockets, who without Yao Ming are no better than the Hawks who the Cavs derailed in 4. In addition the Nuggets handled a pretty good Mavs team in 5 games. The Dream matchup of Kobe and Lebron can still happen, but the Lakers have to start playing to get to that point. If the Lakers don't get their act together, it will be Lebron vs Melo in the Finals.
