Has anyone noticed that the Cavs have won 8 games and by the start of the conference finals over two weeks of rest. They seem on a mission to get the title. The other big name teams seem to have a problem understanding that finishing the job is important in the NBA Playoffs. Sure the Celtics and Magic are fighting, but some teams seem to lack that Championship mentality on certain nights. Take for example the Los Angeles Lakers, picked by many as the perennial favorite to win the west and the NBA Championship. The Lakers seem to have no sense of urgency and sometimes play in a lethargic way. They have allowed a team they should have been done with in 5 games, to extend the series to 7. In the two games played in Houston since star Yao Ming went down with an injury, the Lakers have loo
Continue reading "The Cavaliers arent messing around while other big name teams are"

The NFL Draft was going according to plan until the Browns went on the clock after Aaron Curry was selected the pick before. They ended up trading their pick to the New York Jets in a mammoth deal in which the Browns essentially ended up trading for 5 guys and gave up the number 5 pick. The Browns then proceeded to trade down twice more until they finally picked at 21. In a surprising move, The Browns chose to pass on Chris "Beanie" Wells and Ray Maualuga and took Cal center Alex Mack who is a very versatile player. I've heard the guy can play every position along the offensive line. In the second round, The Browns might have answered the question as to whether or not Braylon Edwards is staying when they drafted two receiver, Hometown Boy Brian Robiskie out of Ohio State at 36 an
Continue reading "What a first day of the NFL Draft for the Brownsand other teams"

It didn't stun me that Detroit had a furious rally in the fourth quarter of Game 2. They are a team with integrity and pride. Tbat being said, it still wasn't enough and it won't be enough to beat the Cavs. The maximum amount of games that Detroit will win is 1. Theres a chance they may not win one. The Cavs will begin to face challenges in the second round and the Conference Finals. While teams like Atlanta, Miami, Boston and Orlando are the most likely teams to face the Cavs down the road, they are the not the best team. The reasons why the cavs will win not only the East but the Nba Title is because of what wins championships and that is defense and they also have the best player in the world Lebron James. The Lakers are no doubt a great team but when it comes to getting stops when it m
Continue reading "Cavs being challenged"

From the stuff that I have heard, it sounds like the Browns like Crabtree and Crabtree likes the Browns. With Braylon most likely leaving via trade or next offseason during free agency, this should be a no brainer for the Browns, but they are making it so hard. Yes the browns are in desparate need of defense but the only player that makes sense at 5 is Aaron Curry and he is likely to be gone. If the Browns are not going to take Crabtree, it is sending a message to the team and the fans that they are a no nonsense team. With Kellen Winslow gone and Braylon on his way out, the Browns are eliminating distractions. Still at this point in the draft, it makes sense for the Browns to take Crabtree because he is the best available player.
Continue reading "Crabtree a Brown Braylon a Giant"

Like many Browns fans, I am confused as to who the Browns will take in Saturday's NFL Draft. A couple of weeks ago it was rumored to be Michael Crabtree. A couple of weeks before that it was rumored to be Brian Orakpo, a defensive end from Texas. Now it is rumored that the Browns may go after B.J Rajii, a Defensive Tackle from Boston College. Wait... don't we already have one of the nastiest defensive tackles ins the game in Sean Rogers. To me Crabtree makes the most sense at 5. Hes the best player on the board at this point assuming Aaron Curry is gone. And with Braylon Edwards having one foot out the door already and Kellen Winslow gone, the Browns need a playmaker. For the sake of the fans, I hope Kokinis and Mangini take the right guy at 5 and that is Michael Crabtree.

Continue reading "Who will the Browns take at 5"

After seeing the Celtics lose Leon Powe last night and not having Kevin Garnett for the entire playoffs, people are writing off the defending champs. The other challenger to the Cavs, the Orlando Magic blew a big lead and was stunned by Philly. The question is: Will it be a cakewalk to the NBA Finals? The answer to that question is a definitive no. First off Detroit is no slouch. They no the Cavs really well. Still the Cavs should handle them in no more than 5 games. This would lead to a second round meeting with either the Hawks or the Heat. Either one of these teams can cause problems for the Cavs. Atlanta has been a thorn in the side of the Cavs all year, giving them games. And what a matchup it would be to see Lebron vs D-Wade in Round 2. The Cavs are still stronger than both of t
Continue reading "Is it a cakewalk to the NBA Finals for the Cavs"

After watching Game 2 of the NBA Finals, I am encouraged. With the Celtics two best players on the floor and down 20 points, the Lakers got as close as two. With the next three in LA, I am confident that this series will return to boston for a game 6. Am I the only one that finds the fact that the Lakers rallied back with the opposing teams two best players on the floor. The Lakers really need to play better defense because they allowed a reserve like Leon Powe (no disrespect... but he is no KG) to score 21 points in 15 minutes off the bench. On one play, Powe went coast to coast and the Lakers didnt even move. Still this series is not over and anyone calling for a sweep is an idiot. The Lakers are unbeaten at home and they showed signs that they can beat the celtics in Boston. Still, history is against the Lakers because only three teams have come back from 0-2 to win the NBA Title, the last one being the Heat in 2006. Laker fans should be encouraged even though the Lakers lost twice in Boston. The next three are in LA. We will see what happens.

Continue reading "Are the Lakers done HELL NO"

People in San Antonio can whine all they want, but the fact is that the Lakers are up 3-1 coming back to Staples. When it comes to Barry getting fouled or not, I think it was a foul, just not a foul with two seconds left in the game. First off, San Antonio shouldn't have had the ball to begin with because Derek Fisher's shot hit the rim which would have reset the shot clock. Instead the refs did not reset it and it led to the final play. Memo to San Antonio: STOP WHINING. You have four championships and you knew coming that the Lakers were more athletic, fresher and younger. Its pretty much a forgone conclusion that the Lakers will advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since Shaq left. The NBA honestly hopes that they will play the Celtics. I want to see that matchup too. Either way
Continue reading "Game 4"

I don't know about you, but I'm excited for this season. This is the first time in years that I have been excited for the Browns. The expectations could not be any higher for the Browns. After winning 10 games and narrowly missing the playoffs, the Browns sport one of the toughest schedules in the nfl. They play Dallas, Jacksonville, Indy, Pittsburgh and not to mention the Super Bowl Champ New York Giants. There is no doubt the offense will score points, but the main question is can the defense hold up. If the defense does hold up, the Browns could be a dark horse super bowl team this year. It's going to be a very interesting season and I can't wait for it to get underway.

Once again the Cavs came close, but they couldn't get the job done. Lebron had one of the best games of his career and hardly anyone else showed up. This is the story of Lebron's career. He's an amazing player, probably one of the top 3 best players in the league, and yet he can't win a title because of a lack of talent. They had Carlos Boozer, but he went for the money and gave Cleveland a giant middle finger. Since that time, it seems like Cleveland has tried to surround Lebron with talent, but it just hasn't worked out. The names that come to mind in this project are: Larry Hughes and Ben Wallace, both who were overpaid and unmotivated. If the Cavs want to keep Lebron in Cleveland after 2009, they actually have to surround him with talent. This means that Danny Ferry needs to be ac
Continue reading "The Future of The Cleveland Cavaliers"
